About me

Updated: Oct 9, 2021

My name is Sara Barr. I am in my mid 30s. I have three girls: Kamryn, Kaelyn and Aspen.

Since I was a little girl, all I wanted was to be a mom. I also wanted to own my own hair salon. I thought I was going to be a cosmetologist. But life doesn’t always go according to plan.

When I was 22, I met Calvin. He was tall, dark, and handsome. I had a small gathering at my house the night we met. We were spade partners. We played footsie under the table and he never left after that first day we met.

Fast forward two years. I was unemployed, in school, dependent on my parents.…and pregnant. Funny how life likes to twist the knife at time, right? I was at a crossroad. Or at least that is how my mom described it. To me I only had one option. I was going to give my daughter the best life I could.

Kamryn was perfect. Everything I could have ever hoped for in a baby girl. Time went by and the days turned into years.

When she was born, I started my nursing career. I went to LPN school first then bridged to the RN program. I am currently still in school (ALLLL these years later). I’m in the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program. I’m so tired of school, phew!!

While in school, I had Kaelyn and Aspen. Life has not slowed down for even one minute for the last 10 years. In that time, I have come to grow into the person I am today. The holistic nurse that gives my all to my patients, day in and day out. That is what they deserve. Someone who cares about them getting better as their own family does.

Well in all of the years at bedside, I am not getting any younger. Although I am only 34, I am riddled with arthritis. My hips are degenerative and I have trap muscles that would make a body builder blush. My ankles pop when I walk and I am pretty sure my 87 year old grandmother has a better back than me at this point.

All of that said, one starts to think about what is next. What is life like after critical care and emergency medicine? I have thought about this long and hard for years.

Two years ago, I was introduced to the world of Microblading. I knew then that was where my career was going to take me. I have mapped out, planned and organized over the last two years about my business.

It has taken me that long to get my “life in order.” But here I am. Finally ready. Finally taking the steps. I am able to walk the walk and not just talk about the talk anymore. It has been a very long road to get me to where I am now, but I couldn’t be more grateful.

I am so excited to be here and to be able to serve you!! I am proud to introduce to you Sara Barr Studio.
